Consulting on the Growth of an IT Performance Management Solution
Providing support for the leadership team in a project to improve IT performance management
Challenge
In the context of a market that was increasingly open to competition, our client was obliged to make significant improvements to its information systems in order to cope with the new market conditions.
As a result it engaged in a review of its entire systems architecture, introducing applications based on SOA.
The IT environment under review operates in “real time” and must have a high level of availability; if unavailable, the negative impact on the business is immediate both financially and in terms of brand reputation. Furthermore, the IT infrastructure which had hitherto been carried largely on a central server also needed to move to a distributed system.
Aims
One of the main concerns for our client was to move from a technical performance management solution to a business-focused solution.
Implementation
To carry out this project, we conducted interviews with the users of the current performance management solution in order to understand better their business requirements and concerns.
The designers of the new plan were also consulted in order to take into account the new objectives for the IT system.
The project took place in several stages :
- Collecting information about the existing system and the developments already planned
- Consolidating and sharing information
- Formalising the requirements
